An eagle-owl at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock

what an impressive bird! I'm guessing its part of their collection of birds, rather than a wild one that visited?

It was part of the falconry show in Blenheim gardens, surely must be part of their collection, after that there was "jousting" ( not sure of the spelling ), basically people on horses in King Artuhur's atmosphere with lances and all that with a fundamental " circus" attitude and a very funny presenter.

The eagle-owl anyway passed just above our heads in the show, very thrilling, ( children in ecstasy) I could take the photo while she touched the ground near me...I don't know why it is "eagle" owl, maybe because it is so big.
